NOT JUST A WEDDING...
NOT JUST A WEDDING...
but a big fat Pakistani wedding. We all know it and most of us might have been through all this wedding planning thing as Pakistani weddings take off a year before they actually happen. There are so many things to do and a number of events to plan that takes days to end. Since, there are so many we’ll brief out some basics in planning a desi wedding:
#1. WRITE DOWN ALL YOUR PLANS
It is very important to write down all your plans so you don’t forget any of them. When you make a list of what needs to be done, half of your tensions go away because you know what’s the next step? Keeping a track of your ideas and plans is very important by doing this other ideas won’t interfere and nothing will distract you from getting things done.
#2. ORGANIZE A MEETING FOR THE GROOM TO MEET EVERYONE FROM THE BRIDE'S FAMILY
You might think that you have to get your wedding plans approved just from the bride’s parents but no, the whole family of the bride needs to meet and approve the groom. Everyone from the eldest uncle to the smallest cousin wants to know about who the groom is and what does he look like. So in order to avoid all the fuss for the groom like getting interviewed from so many people at different events of your wedding just get over with this meeting. A meeting like this should be arranged for the bride too because vice versa.
#3. BOOK THE WEDDING VENUE AND DECIDE THE DECOR
These things are either planned by eldest in the family or sometimes the bride and groom can decide it themselves too. You need to link everything with each other, make a checklist of everything such as like the availability of venue on the date you choose, whether or not the venue you desire is available on that date, does the venue have sufficient capacity to cater all your guests or not or what kind of menu and decoration does the place offer. Someimes the wedding venue themselves offer the decor and catering services. But if you want to make it more personalised , you can choose to book a vendor of your choice for everything.
#4. BUY YOUR DRESSES
Every bride and groom wants to look the best on their wedding day and why shouldnt one be after all its the best day of their life. If you are willing to spend a hefty budget you can go and buy a designer dress from designers like Republic, Ali Xeeshan, HSY. And if you want to get a customised dress that fits your budget and looks good at the same time, you can get a dress tailor made from famous markets like Rabi centre in Islamabad or Anarkali market in Lahore.
#5. BOOK PHOTOGRAPHERS
The bride and groom are not able to see their wedding from every aspect as they are mostly on stage or are busy with other stuff. They have no idea what happened until they see their wedding pictures or videos. Make sure you choose your photographers wisely who’ll make you go through each and every moment of your wedding, and will make you relive those moments through their work. Consider it as an investment because remember that the cake gets eaten, the flowers die but the wedding photos will last forever.
